How to choose a Credit Card

(CNN) -- It may seem like a dream come true -- being able to buy things without having the money. But racking up debt by using credit cards is no way to ensure a good financial future.

Credit cards are fairly easy to get, but you have to be disciplined and responsible to use them wisely.

"Credit cards are a good way to establish credit (and) show you're responsible enough" to manage payments, said Paul Lavoie, a credit counselor with American Consumer Credit Counseling. "But if (young people) don't get their education on how to use credit cards responsibly, bad things happen."

It's good to have some credit card advice and keep your eye on credit card news, so you can decide which one is suitable for you.

They offer you options like rebate, discounts, mileage, 0% balance transfers, loyalty programs.

Be smart, check everything before get one.
